I have several chronic illnesses, and I haven’t slept all week, yet I’m still showing up to work.

But there’s always a day when I start to feel like I’m going insane because of the lack of sleep, and it makes all my other symptoms worse.

Thankfully, I’ve always had a doctor’s note when I feel I’m in a bad flare-up.

But it’s gotten to the point where I know my body well enough to know that there’s nothing my doctor can do anyway, and I’ll just be wasting my doctor’s time, and the time of other patients who have real issues and need to see a doctor.

My supervisor always asks for a doctor’s note, and I know, again, there’s no reason for me to go since I won’t get help anyway, and my doctor already knows my case.
