I have had a run in with a groupie of moms.
Two of the three of them proceeded to talk badly about my husband and child.
I now refuse to associate with them beyond being cordial at biweekly events.
This woman tried to keep things cordial and respectful.

They told their children to not speak to me.
I do not care what these people think.

We have a mutual friend. He has been trying consistently to get us to make friends again.
That friend had a get together Sunday.
I asked him several times who was coming.
He omitted that the group of moms was coming.
She was upset and decided to leave.
When they arrived, I got really upset with said “friend.”
He was not being truthful, so I left the get together.
My husband now thinks I am the AH. He thinks we should have stayed and just let it progress.

Nobody likes being blindsided. OP clearly asked who was coming, but her friend intentionally lied to her.
It makes sense why she decided to leave instead of putting herself back into a toxic situation.
