Cashier Stays Calm While an Angry Customer Yells at Her—Then Another Shopper Tells the Woman to Act Like an Adult

It’s hard to watch someone treat an employee badly when they’re clearly doing everything they can to help.

One retail worker saw that happen when a customer rolled up to her coworker’s register already angry.

The woman immediately started yelling and demanding that someone help her finish shopping.

Even though the cashier stayed calm and tried to understand what had happened, the customer only got more aggressive.

Then, a man waiting in line decided he had heard enough.

Read on to learn the full story.

That time a customer stood up for a cashier.

So, here I was, working the cash register at work tonight, and all is going well.

That is, until I look up and see this lady (we’ll call her Bertha) roll up to my coworker’s line in her electronic cart.

Bertha, obviously fed up about something, begins yelling at said cashier, a small, introverted young girl, saying, “You need to get your head out of your butt and get people to come help me finish my shopping!”

As the woman was screaming profanities, another customer spoke up.

Now, this girl took this very well, apologizing and having a quiet, calm rebuttal to just find out what the problem had been.

Oh no, Bertha wasn’t having any more of this. Her mouth began to open again, slinging profanities at my coworker for a good 4 or 5 seconds before a gentleman behind her in line spoke up.

“You have NO RIGHT to act like this! SHE did nothing to you and has been trying to be understanding of your situation! You’re an adult! BEHAVE LIKE ONE!” he yelled as we all stood in awe at this hero from the shadows.

Luckily, she listened.

Bertha, still angry, apparently decided to take his words to heart as she remained quiet for the rest of her checkout, looking both quite irritated at the whole situation and, perhaps, a shade embarrassed.

Believe it or not, there are occasionally good, morally guided people left in the world who have no tolerance for this kind of behavior.

This man was a saint, the kind you all deserve to have come to your aid at some point in time. Truly grateful.

Wow! We need more customers like this in the world.

Let’s take a look at how the readers over at Reddit feel about this situation.

This person would’ve done the same.

Yet another person who stands up for cashiers.

That was such a nice thing to do.

Too many people stay quiet when they see someone being treated badly because they don’t want to get involved.

This guy didn’t have to step in, but he knew the cashier didn’t deserve any of that.

Sometimes, people need to hear that kind of thing from someone who has nothing to gain by saying it.
