What would you do if you noticed that you weren’t getting any mail delivered? If it was just one or two days, maybe you’d think there just wasn’t any mail to deliver, but it’s odd to go a day without some sort of junk mail.
In this story, one homeowner hasn’t been getting his mail delivered for quite awhile, and he knows exactly why. It’s because his neighbor keeps parking his truck in front of his mailbox.
He has tried several ways to resolve the issue without success.
Keep reading to find out what he has tried and why he’s desperate for more ideas to try.
neighbor parks his truck blocking my mailbox everyday and gets mad when I complain
My mailbox is at the curb in front of my house.
The mail carrier needs clear access to it or they skip delivery.
This is pretty standard stuff.
This is a big problem.
My new neighbor who moved in 2 months ago has a huge pickup truck that he parks directly in front of my mailbox every single day.
The first week I wasnt getting mail so I checked with the post office and they said they couldnt access my mailbox due to a vehicle blocking it.
I left a polite note on the guys truck explaining the situation and asking him to park a few feet forward or back.
He ignored it.
This guy is a real problem!
I knocked on his door and explained in person.
He said “I can park on the street wherever I want” and shut the door.
I contacted the post office and they put a notice on his truck about blocking mailboxes being a federal offense.
He ripped it up and kept parking there.
It seems hopeless!
Now im not getting any mail at all.
I called the police non-emergency line and they said its a postal issue not a police issue.
The post office says they cant force him to move his truck.
Im stuck in the middle getting no mail.
What an inconsiderate neighbor!
I have bills and important documents that arent being delivered.
I asked the neighbor again yesterday and he told me to “get over it” and that hes not moving his truck for me.
What are my options here??
How is he supposed to “get over” not having his mail delivered? Maybe OP should get petty and resort to parking in front of the neighbor’s mailbox so he doesn’t get his mail delivered either. Maybe then he’d understand the problem.
But surely there’s a better option.

Now, this is the same idea I had.

This is a good idea.

Another person suggests going back to the post office.

Maybe it’s possible to make the neighbor rethink where he parks his truck.

It doesn’t seem acceptable to not deliver someone’s mail simply because their neighbor is parking in front of their mailbox but also refuse to do anything at all to force the neighbor to stop parking in front of the mailbox.
Obviously, homeowners don’t have control over their neighbors. The neighbor should get a parking ticket or something.
