Her Ex-Mother-in-Law Babysits Her Daughter After School—Then She Started Signing Permission Slips for Her

It is great when family can help to babysit kids before or after school, but sometimes it causes conflict, too.
What would you do if your ex-mother-in-law babysat for your child, but she also began signing permission slips for school field trips, and now it is causing issues?
That is the situation that the mother in this story is in, and she wonders if she is in the wrong for being upset about it.
Personally, I think she has every right to want to sign the slips, but she needs to talk about it directly. If she hasn’t done that, she has no reason to be mad. Read through the full story below and see if you agree.
Grandma signing my daughter’s school trip letters?
So, my daughters (8) grandma has my daughter twice a week while I work.
It is great that she can help with her grandchild.
We lived with her until my daughter was 4 and she is a great support and I love her dearly.
She’s not my mum, she’s my (now) exes. I still see her as my second mum and we remain close despite my ex and I not always seeing eye to eye.
This seems quite reasonable.
It started off with them signing her up to go to football once a week without consulting me.
I said this was fine but I would not be taking her if they for some reason couldn’t because I also have a 2 year old boy who is somewhat of a nightmare to control.
And I am practically a single parent now, their dad doesn’t have a lot to do with them at all. They agreed they’d pay for and take her. Fine.
Everything seems to be working well, so far.
Then she had a school trip letter last minute, which she signed and sent back as I was working (I work 8am til 9:30pm) and didn’t want her to miss out on the trip.
Also fine, I don’t want my daughter missing out either.
It seems like she is just trying to help.
But now she signs every school trip letter she gets, despite how much time they’ve given.
This recent one is for a school trip in July, so I very much doubt the deadline was yesterday.
She hasn’t mentioned to me she’s signed it, the only reason I know it’s happening is because my daughter told me she’s going to see Wicked with the school in July.
This would definitely be inconvenient.
What time? No idea. Do I need to drop her off/pick her up somewhere different/different time?
Don’t know because I know nothing about anything! Am I right in feeling miffed about this?
It is fine that she is annoyed by this, but all she needs to do is talk to her ex-mother-in-law. If she hasn’t done that yet, then it is on her for not addressing the problem.
Let’s see what the people in the comments have to say about the situation.
Start by talking to her.

This person says she needs to talk to Grandma.

Having clear boundaries is important.

Just talk to her about it already.

There could be legal implications here.

There is no reason to be upset if she hasn’t talked to grandma about it yet. If she has tried to talk to her about it and grandma keeps doing it anyway, then she has a reason to be mad.
Hopefully, this will just be a simple conversation.
