There’s a certain kind of confidence that comes from being completely wrong and still absolutely furious about it.

The woman in this story had legally parked her car near her house, only for a crazy neighbor to show up at her door already shouting before she’d said a single word.

He insisted her car was blocking his driveway and putting his life at risk, despite it being parked outside the restricted yellow line and not obstructing his view of the road at all.

She tried explaining the situation calmly, even pointing out other cars parked in similar spots with no visibility issues, but he kept escalating anyway.

Fed up, she laughed in his face and closed the door, determined to keep her car right where it was.

AITA for refusing to move my car

I live in Australia, in a restricted parking area (near a health precinct where all roads around the area have a 2hr parking limit). I have 3 people who live in the same house as me (mother and brothers), so we sometimes need to park on the street.

We all have residential permits for this, as we live in the area. Earlier this week, my car was parked on the road in front of my house but next to my neighbour’s driveway.

The parker swears everything was up to snuff, but this still got the attention of their neighbor.

I was NOT on the yellow line (indicates you can’t park no matter what) and was not blocking his driveway or vision off the road on either side. He came to my house later that day and knocked on my door, already angry before I even opened it.

This neighbor went from 0 to 100 real fast.

As soon as I opened it, he started screaming at me to move my car and how it was blocking his driveway and he can’t see the road.

I explained I was not blocking anything and he can’t see the road clearly on both sides.

The parker tries to explain themselves once again, but the neighbor doesn’t seem to care and soon begins making threats.

I referenced how I have cars parked next to my driveway (my other neighbours) and have no issue seeing the road. He said it’s dangerous and how my car is gonna get him hurt.

He said he would call the police to get my car towed and fined. I explained that my car was parked legally and was not obstructing vision or entrance/exit to his property.

He continued to go on and on and on, yelling at me about it, until I got fed up.

Finally, the parker recognized the absurdity of the situation.

So I just laughed at him because it’s ridiculous and shut the door. I did not move my car.

A few hours later, he came back (slightly calmer but still angry) to do the same all over again. As soon as I opened the door and saw him, and he started with the yelling, I shut the door again.

This neighbor went about this all wrong, and now it’s costing him big time.

If he was polite about it the first time, I would’ve moved my car no problem. I’m not a jerk, but if you’re gonna yell like that for no reason, I’m not gonna do what you say at all.

I’m a nurse too, who works in the hospital responsible for the parking restriction, and take the bus to work.

However, my car moves a lot, as I go to the gym, shops, and just other social stuff. So it’s barely even there, yet he still came over furious about it.
