I’m 14 years old, and I got the new Switch 2 on August 15th, 2025.
A couple of months ago, my dad bought a cheap flash cart from China.
He plugged it into my console and tried to load several pirated game icons.
He even clicked on one, which brought up a loading screen before he returned to the home menu and eventually took the cart out.
This teenage boy locked his dad out of the system.
I panicked because I know Nintendo strictly bans consoles that use flash carts or pirated software.
As soon as he left it alone, I quickly deleted all the game icons from the cart.
I set a console lock on my system so he can’t access it without my permission.
I told him that the cart is never allowed near my console again.
Now, things are tense between him and his dad.
It’s been two months now, and thankfully, my console hasn’t been banned from online play.
Still, I feel stressed about how close he came to ruining a console I’ve taken great care of since last summer.
Things have been a bit tense since I locked him out of it.
