‘For 95% of history, humans worked 4 to 6 hours a day for 50% of the days of the year. ‘ A Woman Explained How Humans Are Working More Than Any Other Time In History
by Matthew Gilligan
Well, this sure doesn’t sound good…
Think about this: a woman posted a video on TikTok and said that she thinks human beings work more now then they did during Medieval times, and she blames it all on one thing…capitalism!
The woman said that people worked four to six hours a day until the 1600s and that during Medieval times, “work was intermittent — called to a halt for breakfast, lunch, the customary afternoon nap, and dinner.”
She went on to explain that during some parts of the year, “one day’s work was considered half a day, and if a serf worked an entire day, this was counted as two days work.”
So, what happened that screwed all of us over?
The woman who posted the video said that things went down the tubes when people were expected to show up to work at a certain time every day.
She said that people used to be able to work when they were ready, but then things took a turn for the worse…and here we are today!
Ugh!
Here’s what she had to say.

And here’s what folks said about it on TikTok.
This viewer thinks that capitalism is the problem.
Another TikTokker said this reminds them of a certain movie…
And one viewer made a good point about how things seem to be working today.
I, for one, am happy that I’m living in the 21st century instead of Medieval times…
But she might be onto something when it comes to the work thing…
