It’s normal to be self-conscious of your teeth if they have dental issues. Chances are, your peers will understand.

Unfortunately, your parents may not. See why this woman had a fight with her mom.

AITA for having a meltdown after getting metal fillings in my teeth…

I have a lot of teeth trauma in my life. Broken teeth, root canals etc.

I‘ve had lots of insecurity about my teeth growing up and I finally had a nice smile that people began to compliment me on.

But that was short-lived.

I just got back from the dentist having 3 metal fillings as they were a quarter of the price compared to white fillings. Obviously they aren’t as aesthetically pleasing, so I left in a very bad mood.

My parents are paying, hence the cheaper treatment. My mum and I have had a huge argument shouting at one other because she’s saying I have no right to be so rude to her, that I’m mocking her.

They don’t see eye to eye at all on this.

I explained it has nothing to do with her and I’m allowed to feel upset that my teeth look bad.

AITA for being moody and not wanting to speak to anyone after my appointment? Or is my mum out of order for taking it personally and lashing out at me for my reaction?

Here is what folks are saying.

Exactly. Don’t blame them.

I wonder why he still does them.

Wild is the best term for it.

Indeed. OR arrange an instalment fee with your parents for the white fillings.

I didn’t know this! No wonder they’re now the norm.

This person sounds like she’s 11.
