Promoting a good employee is the smart move unless you’re willing to replace them.
Some coworkers want the promotion but don’t want to prove that they deserve it.
In order for this dad to get a better job, he’s probably going to have to switch companies.
What a full-circle moment!
Sometimes people are just set up to fail.
If you’ve got a problem, take it up with the company.
That is a little short sighted.
If the work is already being done at foreman level, the pay should already reflect that, full stop.
Nothing says “congratulations on the promotion” quite like a new car payment and no job to drive to.
