Meet Rufus, the Wimbledon Hawk that has protected the courts from pigeons since 2000. Before Rufus, pigeons would often interrupt play and groundskeepers were deployed to shoo away the birds with varying levels of success. Ever since Rufus joined the security team, Wimbledon has been ‘pigeon interruption free’.
