Does anyone have any common decency anymore?

Well, of course some people do, but it sure seems to be in short supply these days.

Take the story you’re about to read, for instance.

You’d think that folks would have the courtesy to remove things like fishing line and hooks after they visit a neighborhood pond…but you’d be wrong.

Bummer!

Check out what this woman had to say about some inconsiderate neighbors who live around her.

People leaving fishing line with hook attached.

“My husband and I live near a shared apartment pond.

Rules in our lease state you can fish, but you must release.

Not many people follow that, but those same people are leaving their lines behind.

How rude!

We have taken our dogs out multiple times and husband, myself, or dogs got tangled on a line.

Us humans can feel it and remove it before it becomes an issue. Add dog that wants to run around like crazy or a child who doesn’t know better.

Wild animals apparently don’t matter

We got lucky every time. I’ve felt fishing line brush against me and my husband and I pull at it until we get out all up. Daytime and nighttime. However, tonight, it was wrapped around my dog’s legs and body when she only walked around a 5 foot radius of me.

This is definitely a hazard.

I kept her leash tight near me and asked my husband, while he was unwinding it, to let me know if I needed to move her in any other way. Even with flashlights….. fishing line is not easy to spot right away.

If she took off before I felt the line…… she would have cuts all over her back legs. The hook could have gone who knows where.

Complaining does nothing, we don’t have proof of who is doing this. Lawmakers don’t care even if it’s a law not to leave fishing supplies behind.

I’m about ready to become the “stay off my lawn” person.”

Here’s what folks had to say about this on Reddit.

Come on, people!

Think about other folks who live around you every once in a while.

It’s really not that hard!

This is a pretty dangerous situation!
