Wedding planning can quickly turn stressful when too many opinions get involved.

The following story involves a graphic designer who was contacted by two clients for the same wedding.

Both the bride’s mom and groom’s mom started arguing over invitation details and copied her into their emails.

What started as a simple inquiry spiraled into a debate about whose name should go first on the invitation.

Whoa! That sounds really chaotic. Read the full story below for all the details.

Help, the moms of the bride and groom are cc’ing me on their war over the invitations

I run a small graphic design business. Weddings are easily my best-paying gigs.

They are also the ones that make me question my life choices.

About 70% of couples are totally fine. Then, there is that 30% that makes me want to give it all up.

They me want to become a greeter at Walmart. Lol.

This graphic designer replied to Lisa’s inquiry via email.

Today’s situation is shaping up to be one of those. This morning, I got an email from “Lisa.”

She is the bride’s mom. (That is a fake name, so do not come at me.)

She had seen my work from another wedding, so she asked about packages, dates, and other details.

I sent her my intro email and standard questionnaire. It covers things like what they need and their aesthetic.

It also asks for the names of the wedding party. I do not give quotes until I get that back.

She found out that two potential clients wanted to book her for the same wedding.

Not even an hour later, I got another email. It was from someone else asking about the exact same date.

I followed the same process. I sent my intro email and the questionnaire. Then, I went out for a walk.

When I came back, my inbox had turned into a dumpster fire.

It seems both “Lisa” and “Betty” are trying to hire me for the same wedding.

That is fine, but they both have strong opinions about what is supposed to happen.

She got dragged into an “online war” between the two moms.

Instead of privately hashing this out, they copied me on their argument.

The questionnaire asks for correct spellings of the wedding party’s names.

This somehow spiraled into an all-out war.

It became a fight about whose name should go first on the invitation.

She didn’t even care whose name goes first.

The groom’s mom says they are paying more, so the groom’s name should be first.

The bride’s mom is horrified. She says “tradition.”

For the record, I never asked who goes first. I just follow the traditional format.

If it is a same-gender union, I ask.

She politely told them to leave her out of it.

But now both moms are mad at me. They demanded that I settle the argument.

I politely suggested maybe they leave me out of it.

This is just the invitations.

Good grief, I cannot imagine how stressful the rest of this wedding is going to be.

Lol. This may sound funny, but in reality, getting dragged into family drama over something so small sounds exhausting.

It’s wild how a simple design job turned OP into a referee for two very entitled moms.

Honestly, staying out of it was probably the smartest move she could make.

Let’s find out what others have to say about this.

This user makes a valid point.
