Some people can’t just let other people live their lives, and this story is a prime example of main character syndrome gone sideways.

A homeowner had spent years building a fully legal, permitted, vet-approved setup for their pet opossums, complete with a fenced yard and weather monitoring most people wouldn’t bother with.

But soon a new neighbor moved in next door with plans to become a lifestyle influencer and very strong opinions about how the homeowner should be doing things.

So when the homeowner turned down her advice, she didn’t let it go, she called animal control on pets that were completely within the law.

New neighbors called Animal Control on me

So had new neighbors move in recently and I’m not getting along well with them. First they were annoying, and now they have just ticked me off and I just don’t like them.

To start with, she is trying to become a social media influencer for home and lifestyle. I’m not biting, and that is just annoying her.

But the real issue comes down to pets.

The major issue is this. I have pet opossums. I have all the licenses and permits and vet records.

She asserts that her care for these opossums is top notch.

They are well cared for, loved, and spoiled. If they ever go outside they are in the back yard which is fenced in, and I monitor the weather to make sure the conditions are perfect for them.

They never go into the front yard for their own safety.

Soon her neighbor started playing dirty.

The neighbor got mad because I refused to take any advice from her, and so she called animal control on me. The animal control warden showed up the other day to investigate her complaint.

This complaint held zero actual weight.

In my state, as long as I have all the proper paperwork then all is safe. I showed him the permits, and licenses and all the vet records. I showed him their diet plan and their habitat room. And the complaint was dismissed.

So the owner decided she needed to start fighting back against the neighbor’s entitled behavior.

I called my lawyer and had a Cease and Desist letter sent to her that stated she is to have no communication with me and is to stay off my property and away from anyone affiliated with my house.

This neighbor needs to mind her own business.
