Some parents will defend their kids no matter what they do.
One 19-year-old woman says a group of children has been causing problems around her neighborhood even though they don’t live there.
After neighbors started telling them to leave, two adults showed up at her house one night to confront her about it.
She tried to explain that the kids had been damaging property and frightening some of the elderly residents nearby.
But rather than listening, the mother told her the kids could do whatever they wanted and even mocked her for getting nervous.

A Woman tells me her kids can do whatever they want after I ask if they can stop throwing rocks into my garden
I’ve been having issues with kids screaming and damaging property in my area and was hoping to get some advice, especially with the parents not taking my neighborhood’s complaints seriously.
There’s a group of kids walking around at night, sometimes past 11 p.m., hanging outside people’s houses screaming, walking into people’s gardens, throwing rocks at people’s property, jumping on cars, and nearly hitting elderly people with their electric bikes.
However, they don’t live in my neighborhood, and no one knows who the parents are.
She was approached by a few strangers on her way inside.
I was walking up to my front door as 2 adults (a man and a woman) approached me. I said, “Excuse me, can I help you?” The man stated his kids were told off for hanging around here.
I said I’m sorry that they’re upset, but their kids don’t live in this neighborhood, which is private property, and that they are damaging people’s property. The woman stated that they’re just kids, so they don’t understand, to which I told her that at their age, I wasn’t going around throwing rocks into people’s gardens.
She asked me, “How old are you?”
I told her I’m 19, to which she responded, “19? You’re not exactly a kid then,” completely missing the point of the conversation that I was once their age in this exact neighborhood and yet didn’t damage others’ property in the neighborhood.
At this point, she tried to explain why the kids were a problem.
I tried to explain to them that my dad had cancer in his foot and that my neighbor is an elderly woman. Neither of them can leave their house that much, so they would appreciate not having kids who don’t live in the neighborhood screaming outside their doorstep and even trying to enter the garden, as well as throwing rocks into our garden.
The elderly lady is scared of the kids screaming outside her window. The mother’s response was along the lines of, “So what? He has cancer. My kids can do what they want.”
They also started mocking me because I was kind of shaking and sounded nervous. Bear in mind, I am a 19-year-old girl trying to enter my house who has just been approached by 2 adults shouting at me at around 10 at night, and it’s dark out.
Both these people were acting rather aggressively towards me, with the mother stating, “Look at the state of you. You’re so nervous,” and it wasn’t until my parents came out that they started to back away from me.
Thankfully, her mom came outside.
My mom told the 2 people that she asked the kids to leave, as they were hanging around our front door with water guns screaming. My neighborhood is mostly elderly people, with many of them scared of these kids, and it honestly breaks my heart.
I’m also concerned for the actual kids, as I would guess they’re ages 7-13, walking around from 10 a.m. to 11:40 p.m. around my area with no parent in sight. There have been times where one of the kids has hurt themselves, screaming for their mum, and no one comes.
It’s to the point some of my neighbors want to leave, with one old woman being scared to go on her walks, as she was nearly once hit by one of the kids on their bikes. This woman has a walking aid and is in her 80s or 90s, as well as my dad nearly being hit by one of them on his electric bike as he was walking with his walking stick.
There’s also a kids’ park less than a minute’s walk from my house. I have no issue with kids playing outside, but these kids are screaming and damaging others’ property.
Yikes! That’s a kinda crazy situation.

Here’s a good question.

This mother is completely missing the point.
Her kids are not innocently playing outside. They’re terrorizing people and damaging property.
Obviously, there’s no trying to reason with these people because they’re not going to listen.
Next time the kids come around, it’s time to call the cops.
