Picture of the Day: Little House on the Water

LITTLE HOUSE ON THE WATER

In this morning photograph we see a tiny house on the Drina River, near Bajina Basta, a small town in Western Serbia. The Drina is a 346 km long river that forms much of the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. It is the longest tributary of the Sava River and the longest karst river in the Dinaric Alps. [Source]

The Sifter has actually featured this property before, but it’s such a unique home, I had to share another capture of it. It’s even smaller than the adorable cottage on ‘Just Room Enough Island‘!

The photograph was taken by Uros Petrovic who has a very impressive gallery of landscape photos in his Flickr stream. Even more impressive is the fact that Petrovic is a famous Serbian writer that has authored over ten books and won countless awards! See his author profile on laguna.rs and Wikipedia.
