A Scammer Tried to Pay With Counterfeit Cash—Then Lost His Mind When the Cashier Refused to Give It Back

If you play with fire, you’re gonna get burned…
You’ve probably heard that saying before, right?
Well, guess what?
It’s true!
This fast food worker knows all about that reality and he’s not playing when people come in to his joint and try to play around!
Let’s take a look at what he’s dealing with behind the counter…
AITA for treating bad customers the way I feel they should be treated?
“I work at a fast food place and 9.50 an hour can be rough with some customers. From some of the sweetest people to absolute nasties.
Then there was two incidents where a grown man tried paying with a fake 20 and I refused to return it (as I was trained to) and he starts trying to “explain” that he “knew it was fake” and “you’re not the bank” garbage.
He wasn’t playing around!
Eventually I snapped and told him along the lines of-
‘I don’t care for your excuses! You trued to steal our food AND our wages! You’re a thief using extra steps! That’s £10 for your food!’
He pays and heads off. Granted I did get a “well done” from some colleagues and a manager for seizing it.
Recently a kid tried to do the same thing but I had a bit more restraint because he accepted that he was called out.
I knew it was fake and took it anyway before calling him out on it. Quick encounter-
Me-this is fake. (I put it next to the other fake one and my managers DID see all this)
Him-can I have it back?
Ummmm, no!
Me in a firm tone (and trying to avoid telling him he will face prison/juvenile time for his actions)-no I will not.
He walks off in a huff with his friends waiting outside.
Believe me they know exactly what they are doing using fakes and try to use them anyway
AITA for treating people with fake notes with a slightly bad service?”
