Workplace boundaries are important to maintain.

In this story, an employee has a coworker who keeps asking her to come in early almost every day.

Despite his constant excuses, she refused each time because management never gave her the same flexibility.

Frustrated by the repeated requests, she finally decided to take the issue directly to her boss.

What do you think will happen? Check out the full details below.

Coworker has asked me to come in early every day since he started working

Every single day, my coworker Blondie asks me to come in early.

It has been like this since he started two weeks ago.

The first time, it was because he did not feel good.

The second time, it was because he did not feel good.

This employee was never allowed to leave early.

Yesterday, his room flooded. Today, his dog is sick.

Each and every time, I said no. I plan on continuing to do so.

Blondie is my boss’s son. My boss never allows me to call in or leave early.

I work third shift. I will not ever be going in early for him if he keeps asking.

So she decided not to come in early for Blondie.

I understand life happens. My boss does not take that into account for us. Why should I for him?

I just texted my boss and told her that he has asked about six times in the last two weeks.

He needs to stop asking. I do not care if that is her son or what he has going on.

My boss can go screw herself.

Every time she asked for permission, she was never given a chance.

The one time I called in for a panic attack, my job was threatened.

A second time, I tried to call in for a migraine. I was told I had to come in anyway.

I was not offered for someone to come in early so I could leave. Not once.

Screw my boss and screw Blondie.

That’s seriously frustrating to deal with daily.  The double standards at OP’s workplace are just unfair.

This is why it’s understandable that she wouldn’t give in to an early clock-in request.

Her argument is valid, and I guess she just won’t stop saying no to the boss’s son, now will she?
