She Kept Documenting Her Upstairs Neighbor’s Stomping for Months—But Management Still Wouldn’t Help

Noise complaints are supposed to actually lead somewhere, but for one unfortunate renter, that hasn’t been the case.
Living below a family with a midnight-shift schedule and apparently zero volume control has turned into a round-the-clock ordeal. Stomping until 3am, kids running wild starting at 6:30, and heavy footsteps loud enough to sound like dropped weights, day after day.
Notes, direct conversations, video evidence sent straight to management — none of it has even made a dent.
The renter doesn’t want to lose their cool, but growing increasingly desperate, they fear they may soon have no other choice.

Noisy upstairs neighbors
I have tried and tried many times with my upstairs neighbors.
They constantly stomp, let their kids run around all day when they get home. The father gets home around midnight every night from his job and stomps till 3 am.
The kids and mother are up at 6:30 stomping and running around.
The renter has already tried to take action, but nothing seems to work.
I have talked to the courtesy officer, and he said he can’t do anything but tell them to keep the noise down. It isn’t serious unless he hears them from outside the door, is what he says.
The front office has reached out to them to keep it down, but they still stomp and let the kids run around however they feel.
Even with documented proof, nothing changes.
I sent videos showing how loud they are, and the front office just doesn’t do anything.
They stomp and sound like they are dropping weights every time they are home.
I have to always keep a speaker on watching streamers just to mask out the noise of their heavy feet and rambunctious kids running around.
I do not know what to do.
They begin to fantasize about revenge.
I figure I will get a ceiling vibrator soon to let them know how it feels, because I have left notes, even talked to them about being loud, and they still don’t care and are not mindful of my dogs and sister and I.
Like at this point I will crash out on them, and I don’t want to do that.
Banging on the ceiling when they stomp so much to let them know they’re loud doesn’t even work, it makes it worse, and I don’t know what to do.
This sounds like a completely miserable situation.

Management doesn’t always care about the quality of their tenants as long as the money keeps coming in.

Some states do better at enforcing noise concerns than others.

This user thinks a lack of sound insulation could be to blame.

At some point, the people ignoring the problem become as much of an issue as the stomping itself.
Sending video evidence of a problem should mean something. This tenant has already made management’s life easy by preemptively providing the evidence.
Wanting quiet in your own home shouldn’t require this much effort.
