Have you ever played one of the “Grand Theft Auto” video games?

They are WILD.

In addition to that, the subject matter is definitely not for people under a certain age.

So you can probably understand why this guy did what he did when he caught his cousin playing the game on his system.

But now he’s wondering if he might’ve taken things too far…

AITA for not letting my cousin play video games?

“I, 19M, had some friends and family over to celebrate my aunt’s birthday, she brought my cousin 7M.

The entire first day of the long weekend he was watching YouTube on his Nintendo Switch. After it died, he plugged it in he asked me if he could play Grand Theft Auto 5 on my Xbox, and I said no.

He kept asking throughout the day to get the same answer, until his switch was charged and he continued playing.

On the second day at 8:30 am, I wake up and he’s on his switch with a pouting look. I asking him what’s wrong. “Fortnite isn’t working.”

What was this all about…?

I asked him why, he said “what does this say?” Showing me the screen. It was an error message about server issues. I told him to read it….. he can’t.

After a couple hours he tries asking for my Xbox again to get the same answer.

I make offer him a deal, if he reads the book “Dog Man” by Dave Pilkey, and tells me what happened in it when I got home, I would let him play Forza.

He agrees, and I then head out the door and go to work. When I return, all the adults are outside.

That’s not appropriate!

I enter the living room, he’s playing GTA5 on my Xbox, in the “shoe store”.

I unplug the console and hide the cord in my bedroom. He flips out, tattles, and now I’m faced with a choice.

Give it back, or suffer the consequences of refusing a to fuel a spoiled brat that can’t read.

Both my mother and his are going ballistic after I chose the latter saying it’s not fair that he can’t play on my console.”
