His Neighbor Keeps Dumping Snow on His Property—And He’s Finally Had Enough

If you live in certain parts of the country, snow removal is a big issue.

Where does it all go?

Well, in this guy’s case, there’s no mystery…

It’s all ending up on his property!

And let’s just say that he’s not happy about it.

Neighbor throwing snow on my property next to my driveway.

“My neighbor across the street decided that the best way to get rid of the snow on his property was throwing it on mine.

We used to live in an HOA that was a complete nightmare with a terrible neighbor across the street too (everybody there couldn’t stand them, not just us) and we moved out of there.

It’s funny how these things happen…

We thought that being out of an HOA (and being able to add a fence), having more land, no sidewalk and more distance between houses would prevent future problems, it turned out we were wrong.

It doesn’t matter how hard we try, it seems there is always somebody entitled and disrespectful who can’t realize how their behavior can affect others.

So a few days ago, I almost hit a huge pile of snow that they left partially on the road in front of their property when I was trying to enter my driveway.

I ended up going there with my snowblower and destroyed the mountain of snow before somebody else could end up in an accident because of them and I tried to ignore it because I really don’t want drama with neighbors again.

These people…jeez…

They were also pushing the snow from their driveway to my property or more specifically the ditch between the street and my property. Now the pile of snow is so high that is blocking my view of one side of the street when I’m trying to get out of my driveway.

I’m concerned that I could end up hitting a car while I’m trying to get out of my driveway because they blocked my view.

They are also a constant source of noise because they are always adding more garages and buildings to put all sorts of vehicles despite the house only having one bedroom and the property being zoned as residential.

It seems that there is nobody there for weeks except for the people working in the construction and the person who is plowing the snow and throwing next to my driveway. I would rather not to approach them even if they were there anyway because after almost damaging my car because of them, I don’t want to meet them.

It turns out that we all live in a small township and everybody is in the Facebook group of the town. I thought about politely posting pictures of the situation in the group asking them to stop throwing snow on my side of the street and to remove the mountain they created before somebody gets hurt.

I really don’t want to escalate the situation, I would like to find a solution that solves the issue and, if possible, with minimal or no direct contact with them.

This is really frustrating…

I wish they would just take care of the snow in their property like everybody else, without endangering and creating problems for others.

It sucks that we really tried to predict every possible problem with a neighbor and bought a house that we thought it would be practically immune to people acting like this.

I really thought that not having a sidewalk and having a ton of trees between the house and the street would protect me from neighbors’ bad behavior, but here I’m with a gigantic pile of snow next to my driveway blocking my view thanks to the neighbor across the street.

I would appreciate any advice that could help us to solve the issue as peacefully as possible and hopefully to find a way to be left alone.

We just want to mind our businesses and to be able to get out of our property safely.”
