Homeowner’s Plant Hangs Over the Property-Line Fence—Now His Neighbor Is Fed Up With Cleaning Up the Leaves

What in the heck happened to being a good neighbor?
It seems like times have changed, because when I was growing up, I remember people borrowing each others’ lawnmowers and helping out if a neighbor needed a hand with just about anything.
But today, it seems like it’s every man, woman, and child for themself.
In today’s story, a person sounded off about why they’re annoyed that their next door neighbor doesn’t have the courtesy to clean up any of the mess that a tree on their property causes.
Take a look and see what you think.
Neighbor’s overhanging bougainvillea is a mess on my driveway. How should I handle this?
“I’m looking for some advice on a neighborhood issue.
My neighbor has a huge bougainvillea that is currently in full bloom.
The problem is that it hangs way over the fence and sits directly over my driveway.
When the flowers dry up and die, they drop constantly.
They’re clearly not happy about this.
It is an absolute mess, and I am exhausted from sweeping the driveway every single day.
My neighbor hires a professional gardener who uses a leaf blower, but the gardener never comes over to my side of the driveway to clean up or trim the overhang.
On the other hand, I don’t hire a gardener, so I am the one stuck doing all the manual sweeping with a broom.
It takes so much time and energy, and I’m honestly exhausted.
What to do, what to do?
What is the best way to handle this without causing a neighborhood feud?
Should I talk to the neighbor, ask their gardener directly, or just trim the overhanging branches myself?
(I live in the US, if that matters for local regulations).
Thanks in advance for any advice!”

This doesn’t seem like it would be too hard to fix, right?
Not at all!
But it hasn’t happened yet for some reason…
It sounds like this person needs to go have a talk with their neighbor sooner than later.
