She Refused to Lend a Rare Book to an 8-Year-Old—and Was Instantly Called Childish by Her Friend

As an avid reader who takes books everywhere I go, I’ve had multiple people ask me to borrow my books. Unfortunately, I had to start saying no when I realized I could never be 100% sure if I’d ever see the book again.
One time, a classmate borrowed my book and then returned it stained with juice.
So I totally understand why the woman in this story didn’t want to hand her special edition book to a child. But her friend thinks she’s just being rude.
Now she’s wondering if she is acting childish for saying no to a kid.

AITA for not letting a child borrow my book?
I’ve never posted on Reddit so apologies if I do this wrong, but I need some neutral opinions.
My (F27) friend (F30) recently asked me if her 8 year old son could borrow my Gravity Falls Book. It’s the special edition of journal 3 with the invisible ink and is very important to me.
For those that aren’t familiar, there are only 10,000 copies of this version available and they’re quite pricy to obtain now.
She doesn’t feel confident handing it to a kid.
Because of that, I gently told her I wasn’t comfortable letting a young child borrow it but offered my copy of the regular version.
She insisted that her son would be careful and that he really wanted to see the hidden messages that are only in the special edition.
When I still refused, she blew up calling me a “childish *****” and went on about how I shouldn’t be that obsessed over a show meant for kids.
We haven’t talked since and I’m honestly reevaluating our friendship, but before I make any decisions I need to know if I’m in the wrong.

Her “friend” isn’t a real friend or mature, either. She could have suggested looking at it together, but decided to call her names.
