How to deal with noisy neighbor upstairs?

“I just moved to a new apartment, and recently the new neighbor upstairs has been stomping/running back and forth at 7 am.

So I went upstairs today trying to have a simple conversation about the noise, and the wife upstairs was sort of a Karen.

Oh, boy…

She goes, “The foot stomping is actually not a violation of the lease, and the noise was coming from my 4-year-old son, which I do not have any control over. If I said no to him, he would be hysterical and get worse. What I recommend to you, though, is to move to another place so that you don’t have to hear these noises.”

The translation seems like: Don’t care. Get lost.

So talking didn’t work.

It sounds like she’s stuck…

I’ve just spoken with the lease office lady about this, and she said she will get in touch, but it probably won’t go anywhere.
