Who needs to bother giving a two-week notice before leaving a job these days?

Well, according to the woman you’re about to hear from, NOBODY DOES.

Her name is K and she posted a viral TikTok video explaining why she thinks two-week notices just aren’t necessary when folks are planning to leave a job.

K’s video started with a clip from a man named Joey who said, “The two-week notice system is built off of nothing. It is a boomer Oingo Boingo honor system.”

K then talked about her own experience giving notice at a job where she tried to giver her boss enough time to find a replacement for her.

She said, “I put in notice at my job last month. And I gave them five weeks of notice—which is, like, a lot—mostly out of respect to my team because I know how long my agency takes to hire new people.”

K’s boss still asked her to stay longer even though she offered plenty of time.

She said, “My boss came back to me a week later and asked me to continue working longer because there’s no way they’re gonna hire someone in that time. Your notice means nothing. But, I told them no.”

K explained further and said, “The reason they’re not gonna have someone new in that time frame is because their hiring system is so ******* slow, and they expect high credentials with low pay.”

She added, “It’s not my job, and it’s not your job to fix the system that they created.”
