Imagine working at a job that requires you to get up and leave for work really early in the morning. If you still lived at home with your parents, would it bother you if they were still sleeping when you left for work?

In this story, one front desk worker at a hotel shares that her dad always makes a point of waking up early to wish her a good morning before she goes to work.

But this morning he overslept.

She brushed it off and didn’t think it was a big deal, but she was pleasantly surprised later in the day.

Keep reading for this sweet story.

My Dad came to say hello

I know it’s just something silly but every weekend or day when I have a morning shift and my dad is home he always loves to come down and wish me a good morning at the ungodly 6 am I get up for the shift.

Yesterday was thanksgiving and I worked a morning shift the next day and he told me he would get up to see me off.

I woke up and he was still asleep by the time that I headed out the door, I didn’t get all hurt about it because honestly I would have slept in late if I could have after eating all that turkey.

This is so sweet!

I get a text right as my break starts with him asking if I’d eaten today just as I’d started my break.

I told him i hadn’t and he told me to hold on.

He came walking in the door not to long after with burger king and a little kids crown in hand.

What a thoughtful dad.

He felt horrible about not seeing me off and came and brought me food.

We sat and talked a bit for the rest of my break.

I know everyone and their parents have rough points and I know I’ve had mine but no one will ever love me like my dad does I swear.

What I love about this story is how thoughtful, caring and involved the dad is in his all grown up kid’s life. I also love that OP isn’t embarrassed by the dad’s sweet gesture. Some young adults might’ve been offended by the kids crown, but instead, OP seemed to really appreciate her dad’s company.
