Small household disagreements can quickly turn into much bigger arguments.

The following story is about a man who accidentally spilled bleach on his girlfriend’s clothes while rushing to move his laundry.

His girlfriend had previously told him not to leave clothes on the dryer, and she was angry when she saw them there again.

But the bleach bottle beside the washer had also been left loosely capped, so he’s insisting it was kind of her fault, too.

I don’t think a blame game ends up well. Let’s take a closer look!

AITA for wanting my girlfriend to admit she contributed to ruining her clothes with bleach?

I folded some laundry and left it on top of the dryer, which my girlfriend has asked me not to do before.

When she saw it, she got angry, started yelling, and demanded that I move it immediately.

I went into the laundry room to grab my clothes.

Her basket was also on the dryer, and directly behind it was a bottle of bleach beside the open washer.

This man accidentally spilled bleach on his girlfriend’s clothes.

The bottle looked closed, but she had used it earlier and had not tightened the cap.

She was yelling, so I was rushing and wanted out quickly.

While grabbing my clothes, I accidentally knocked the bleach into the washer, where her clothes were sitting.

The loose cap came off, and bleach spilled.

She stormed off, and I immediately rinsed everything in cold water.

Most of the clothes were saved, but four items were stained.

He apologized, but she kept blaming him.

I apologized, accepted that I knocked it over, and offered to replace everything.

However, I also think she contributed by leaving uncapped bleach next to an open washer.

She also pressured me to move the clothes immediately.

She says it was entirely my fault and is angry that I keep asking her to acknowledge any responsibility.

AITA for continuing to push for her to admit she played a part, even though I’m replacing the clothes?

Uh oh! He clearly made the mistake of knocking over the bleach.

But he apologized right away and offered to replace the damaged clothes, which I think was the right thing to do.

Although his girlfriend may have contributed to the situation, repeatedly asking her to admit fault may not help resolve the argument.
