It was very disrespectful to her and her boyfriend.
They got it so wrong.
The parent’s response was a huge mistake.
They need to work on their communication now.

Given the circumstances, that was an absurd request.
It’s too bad this mother is making her daughter’s special day all about her.
If you want to have a destination wedding, you don’t get to be upset when your friends bow out due to cost.
The groom’s family should back off. It’s not their wedding after all.
