It’s not every day an “emergency” ends in awkward silence and a shrug.
He lost a little bit of his dignity that day, but “c’est la vie”.
She’s not paid near enough to deal with this nonsense.
She managed to get the last laugh without saying a thing.
She may not have been an employee, but she was who that child needed most in that moment.
